  • You want to reduce stress and anxiety leading up to your sessions and feel as though you can hop out of bed the morning of the session excited and motivated instead.

  • You want hands-on practice photographing clients you know nothing about to improve communication skills to create an instant connection with anyone who steps in front of your camera.

As an educator and active professional photographer, I hold a decade of experience in the photography industry learning the ups and downs of creating emotionally connected, moment-driven images with a thoughtful eye and composition.

Many of the clients I’ve worked with have hired me to assist them through:

  • How to co-create incredible portraits with the person in front of the camera

  • Increased comfort and confidence speaking with clients and getting clients to feel themselves in front of the camera.

  • Navigating unpredictable situations on the fly

  • Yearning to transform old beliefs or ingrained beliefs that there is only one way to approach creating photographic portraits

  • Clarifying an obscured view of themselves through portfolio reviews from a birds-eye perspective

What Jen’s Clients Have To Say

YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Jen Allison is a portrait and branding photographer, educator and photography professor based in what is currently known as East York, on the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabewaki, Haudenosaunee, Wendake-Nionwesntisïo, Mississauga peoples.

Jen began her career in the photography industry as a freelance photo assistant to some of Toronto’s best commercial and editorial photographers after graduating from Algonquin College Photography program.

With over 14 years of experience in the professional photography industry, Jen has “seen it all” in terms of lighting scenarios as well as put her knowledge into practice with various clients over the years.

Her approach to photography is centred around storytelling - highlighting the moments you can’t pose and breathing life into the seemingly mundane. She provided space for people to be themselves in front of a camera - she helps people see the world, not through a social media lens, but a lens of compassion and humanity.

She creates emotionally connected moment-driven images with a thoughtful eye and composition.

Jen resides in Toronto with her partner, child and dog and is currently attempting her first Half Ironman triathlon.
